Thursday, August 27, 2015-
Controversial city Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism, seems to be
undergoing the toughest time of his life as his woes deepen by the day.
After renowned City lawyer
Cliff Ombeta withdrew from his case, the High Court has frozen bank accounts of
his Neno Evangelism church.
The accounts were frozen after he
conned a city businessman named, Geoffrey Ndung’u, a whooping Ksh 2.3 Million.
Mr Ndung’u claims that he moved the
funds from his account to that of Neno Evangelism in 2012 after Ng’ang’a prayed
for him to be healed of mental problems.
The city businessman says that he
was on medication for a psychotic break when he transferred the funds to Pastor
Ng’ang’a church account and therefore, he was not in his right mind.
Efforts to have the funds returned
to him hit a snag and that’s why he decided to file a case in court.
However, the rogue city preacher has
denied any knowledge of the funds being transferred into his church account and
in case Ndung’u transferred the money, that was gift to the church and it’s not
refundable.
“If such money was deposited in the church’s
account, it was deposited without coercion, inducement and was an absolute
gift,” Ng’ang’a said.
The case will be mentioned on
September 22.
