People are heartless. Imagine somebody has been doing this to SAFARICOM subscribers

Friday, August 14, 2015 – A social media user by the name, Joe Mithamo, has decided to expose the dirty tricks being used by fraudsters posing as Safaricom’s customer care representatives to con innocent Kenyans.

Through a lengthy post which he posted on social media, Joe claimed that the fraudsters have been calling people and ask them to verify if they are the legit owners of their lines by asking crucial information.

He further alleged that once you give them the details, they will call the real customer care claiming that his or her line, which is supposedly yours, is lost and they want it to be blocked so that they can be given a new one which they will use to milk all them money in your M-Pesa and M-Shwari account.

Check out his post below.

Please beware of fraudsters who have taken their game a notch higher. They will call you and claim to be safaricom's customer care representatives stating that from their records your line has been registered more than once. They therefore want to ask you some questions to verify that you are the owner of the line. The questions start with your ID number followed by several others which you shouldnt disclose to anyone. What they are doing is that after you divulge these information, they will use the details to call the real customer care claiming that their line which is supposedly yours has been stolen therefore they want it blocked only to replace it with their details and drain any cash in your m-pesa and/or m-shwari
