Friday, 11 September 2015 - Following the death of his best friend’s dad, award winning Kenyan singer, Jaguar has cancelled his last London show that was slated to for next weekend.
Speaking during a recent media interview, the Huu Mwaka hit maker disclosed that he made the tough decision in honour of the late Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s dad.
Jaguar went ahead to describe his relationship with Sonko as ‘brotherly’ adding that it was out of their friendship that he has decided to fly back home earlier than was expected.
“My good friend Sonko is a man of the people and losing his dear dad was a big loss. It’s through his late father’s leadership and struggle that has made him who he is today, and out of the friendship I have with him, I am flying back home this Sunday for the burial,” he said.
Jaguar has been in London for the last couple of days to attend a number of shows organised by Kenyans living in UK. He performed last weekend at the Kenya Fest in London and is slated to perform at a VIP show tomorrow after his address as a guest speaker at the Kenya We Want forum in the English capital.
Mike Sonko's dad will be laid to rest on Tuesday at his farm in Mua Hills in Machakos county where several leaders including President Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to attend.
