Young rapper features President Uhuru in new song: You won’t believe how well he sings

Wednesday, 23 September 2015 - Some years back, Hip Hop music was viewed as an avenue for revealing what was ailing society.

Characterized by conscious lyrics that brought to light what the oppressed were going through, this music genre, which was more popular amongst black Americans, was seen as the voice for the voiceless and an outlet for the frustrations experienced by a section of the society.

However in the recent past the genre has evolved as the hip hop culture spread to both urban and suburban communities throughout the world.

But as it evolved its distinct element of being a revolutionary voice was faced out as new-age artistes started using hip hop to only enrich themselves. Lyrics are now devoid of any meaningful content as the artistes only talk about ‘THOTs’, alcohol, cars and money.

Listening to today’s contemporary rap music, one would think that the rappers are s3x gods and their songs are based on a recurring 'blue-movie'.

However, all hope is not lost as an upcoming Kenyan hip hop rapper by the name MC Pato is looking to change the landscape of the Kenyan hip hop scene.

The young rapper has released a brand new single dubbed ‘Make A Change’ that encompasses thought provoking quotes from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Listen to the lyrics of the song below -Truly what hip-hop is all about :
