The world
famous environmentalist had fought tooth and nail and nearly lost her life as
she protected the Karura forest from being grabbed and developed by the powers
that be.
However, it
seems Maathai’s work was in vain as according to blogger Robert Alai, a huge
chuck of the forest has been cleared and an ‘ugly restaurant’ is being built
within the forest.
