The Shocking things BAHATI saw in drug dens in Mombasa that nearly made him CRY

Friday, 02 October 2015 - Award winning gospel singer Bahati has expressed his shock after he recently had a firsthand experience of how drug addicts live in deplorable conditions.

The Barua hit maker had accompanied his fellow musician and NACADA board member Jaguar in visiting drug addicts in Kisauni Mombasa.

But despite the fact that he grew up in a children’s home, Bahati revealed that he could not believe his eyes after he entered one of the dens where the drug addicts live.

According to the young singer, people in those dens where behaving like zombies and could not walk, talk, eat or comprehend anything that was going on as they were under the influence of drugs.

Bahati further disclosed that he nearly broke down to tears after he found out that minors were also hooked to drugs.

The gospel star has now urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to firmly deal with the drug menace, even if it will mean disbanding NACADA and creating a new resourceful body.

“Those people were in desperate situations with others seeming ready to attend rehabilitation centers. The problem is just how long they would stay clean before relapsing. NACADA should be more active towards the fight against drugs or Uhuru should simply disband the board because it’s clear that youths are suffering under drugs.” Bahati said.

In the meantime, Jaguar has approached the NYS director to see if the outfit can accommodate some if the addicts in a bid to rehabilitate them.
