Friday, October 16, 2015 – On Monday, a Kibera court issued a warrant of arrest against Kenyan based Ugandan gospel artist, Ambassada, after he failed to show up in court for a criminal case.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate, Lucas Onyina, after the prosecution requested the court to authorize the police to arrest the singer after he dodged bail which was set for October 12.
However, Ambassada has now broken his silence on the matter.
Speaking during a recent media interview, the gospel star defended himself by claiming that he is out of the country.
Ambassada further added that he was sick and his lawyers had everything under control.
“I am not in the country and let’s be reasonable, I cannot stop operations because of a court case. Whatever I’m doing is what will facilitate the case anyway. By the time I left the country, I was very sick and my lawyer was taking care of everything on my behalf,” he said.
The singer was released on a cash bail of Ksh. 40,000 after he was arraigned in a Kibera court for being in possession of an iPad, which was allegedly stolen from Fred Omondi of Hapa Kule News TV show.
