Wednesday, November 11, 2015 - Mediamax, which owns K24 TV, Kameme FM, Milele FM, Meru FM, Pilipili FM and People Daily has now started firing journalists barely a day after its CEO, Ian Fernandes issued a restructuring notice through email.
This has elicited a lot of tension as the remaining journalists wait to know their fate.
People Daily, which was re-launched last year (2014) has lost a lot of editors among them; Eric Nyakagwa (political editor), Kamau Ngotho (special projects editor) and Millicent Muthoni (Magazines Editor).
Sub editors and news reporters have also been shown the door and below are their names.
Rebecca Nandwa (sub editor) Robert Onsare (sub editor) and Rose Wanjiku (sub editor), Wanjohi Githae (Parliament news reporter), Maureen Ng'ang'a (news reporter) Soni Kaneke, Pocyline Karani and Racheal Mburu (court reporter).
K24 TV journalists have also not been spared and those who were chased like dogs include; business editor Solomon Kirimi, senior reporter Janet Chapia, Chris Thairu, Dancun Khaemba, Geoffrey Wachira, Wycliffe Orandi and Anders Ihachi. The list is expected to grow.
