This is according to celebrated
Papa Shirandula actress Wilbroda.
Speaking
during a recent media interview, the actress disclosed that she has witnessed
Churchill rise from grace to grass.
According to Wilbroda, Churchill’s struggle
to achieve his dream was evidenced by the fact that he used to sleep at the
Kenya National Theatre after he had concluded his performances as he did not
have a place to go.
However his
homeless status did not deter him from pursuing his dream as according to
Wilbroda, Churchill, who recently celebrated 15 years in the comedy industry,
never gave up.
“He
(Churchill) would sleep at the facility after a whole day of toiling – and it’s
not like one was assured of an acting slot. We were only hoping to be assigned
support roles in a play – and there was no payment for it,” Wilbroda disclosed.
The sultry
actress is now urging upcoming artistes to borrow a leaf from Churchill’s
success adding that one has to consistently work hard and never give up in
order to achieve their dreams.
“I now see young actors and actresses in the
industry really struggling to break through. I’ll admit – each time I see them
hustle hard, I tell them never to give up – we are living testimonies.” The actress
said.
