Popular Mother in Law actress in COURT because of fight with ex-husband

Thursday, 19 November 2015 - Renowned Citizen TV Mother in Law actress, Elizabeth Wanjiru, better known as Charity, is seeking the help of the Court of Appeal in a case pitting her against her estranged husband,Shem Bageine

Charity wants the court to declare that she is the rightful owner of a multimillion property located in Loresho Estate, Nairobi.

In the case that has lasted nearly three decades, the talented actress claims that her ex-husband, who is the Ugandan Minister of State in East African Affairs, illegally registered their matrimonial property solely under his name despite using funds from their joint account to buy it.

Ms Wanjiru, who revealed that her ex- husband abandoned her in 1981 after 13 years of marriage, wants the court to grant her full ownership of the property arguing it is her savings that bought the house.

The actress has been in and out of court fighting for ownership of the home for the past 28 years. In 2003, the High Court under Justice Richard Kuloba ruled that Ms Wanjiru shouldn’t be thrown out of her home, but did not grant her ownership.
