This is
after the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK)–the body in charge of
collecting and paying royalties to local artistes - released documents that proved
that contrary to rumours circulating on social media, Daddy Owen did not use
blind musician Denno for selfish gains.
Daddy Owen has
been on the receiving end of numerous attacks on social media after Bahati made
sensational claims of how Mbona singer Denno has been living in abject poverty
and in the process blamed Daddy Owen of ‘using and dumping’ the disabled singer.
Things
later got uglier after Denno, while speaking during an interview with Kiss 100 - denied having received any royalties from the mega hit song released back in 2012 leaving Daddy Owen in hot soup, trying to redeem face over
the embarrassing turn of events.
However, according
to the documents by MCSK, several radio and television stations made payments
to Denno.
Daddy Owen,
who has now broken his silence over the issue, says that the documents are proof
that the truth always comes out in the end and that “people should not use his
name falsely.”
