Speaking
during a recent media interview, the talented singer refuted rumours
circulating on social media implying that Avril was too proud and had refused
to work with him.
According
to Ben Pol, the video shoot was characterized by many challenges that started
as soon as he and Rossie M arrived in South Africa for the shoot.
Apparently, the
shooting was postponed three times due to various reasons that ranged from the
director Justin Campos tight schedule and singer Avril’s inability to arrive in
South Africa as she was unable to secure a visa to travel to Cape
Town on time.
"From the word go this video had quite
numerous challenges, we postponed the shooting like three times and we were
already in South Africa with Rossie M. The First Time was because of Visa
issues on Avril's side, you know Kenyans need Visas to go to South Africa
unlike we Tanzanians it's much easier to fly down South anytime as long as you
ready" revealed
Benpol.
According
to the Bongo star, they were forced to do the music video without Avril as
they feared that rescheduling the shoot for another date would mean that the
video would only be released in February 2016,something that would not be
possible simply because it would have cost much and perhaps ruin its timing.
"Due to those reasons i didn't have any
option but because at the end of the day it's not AVRIL or the Director whom
made things impossible it's the 'Situation' that it was out of our reach as
human beings." Benpol
said.
He
concluded by saying that he could have released another version without Avril's
voice but that wasn't his intention simply because the main agenda of the song
was to feature Avril and fans would have missed the opportunity to listen to
Avril's beautiful voice.
"I want to thank Avril for allowing me to
work with her, it fulfilled my 2015 Resolutions working with Artistes outside
Tanzania and she was my first choice. I hope we will work on another project
soon as we anticipated". The singer said.
