Monday,
January 25, 2016 -Fast rising Kenyan rapper Jay A has finally revealed the
truth behind his controversial love triangle that nearly broke his career and love
life.
Speaking at a recent interview, the ‘Dumbala’ hit maker
divulged that he was involved in a complicated love triangle that pitted his
current girlfriend and her then best friend.
Jay A met with his girlfriend, Sham, at a concert
in one of the local universities. Having been interested in the beautiful half Ethiopian-half Israeli lady,
the singer embarked on the long, treacherous, energy and money draining journey
of trying to woo her.
“We met at a party in Multimedia University of Kenya where I
was invited to perform. While I was on stage, I spotted Sham; she really stood
out. She’s one of those ladies you would notice even when she is in a crowd.”
Jay A disclosed.
But unknown to him, Sham’s best friend was also interested in
him and it only took a few days before all hell broke loose after she (Sham’s
friend) realized that the musician was not interested in her.
"I showed interest in Sham (and) when she
(Sham’s friend) learnt about my love interest, she became hostile towards me –
she wanted to kick it with me, and I wanted to kick it with Sham. It was
complicated but you know at the end of the day, I managed to make Sham fall in
love with me. She is the Mrs. Right now,” The talented rapper said.
With time, Sham’s friend realized that she was fighting a
losing battle and she decided to break her ties with the rapper. Her decision however, came at a huge cost to her friendship with Sham as the two no longer see eye to
eye.
“Since that incident,
Sham’s friend has never talked to me – she has never forgiven me. The funny
thing is we never dated for a day. She did not come out. I think she was
waiting for the right time to express herself, but unfortunately ‘the right
time’ never materialized,” said Jay A.
He added: “The two(Sham and the friend) fell out completely. They never see eye to eye.”
Jay A and Sham have been dating for more than three years
now.
