Friday, April 2, 2021 – Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has published a new list of personnel classified as essential services providers, who will not be affected by the newly-revised curfew hours.
President Uhuru Kenyatta reviewed the curfew hours from 10 pm-4 am to 8 pm to 4 am in five Counties – Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Nakuru, and Machakos – due to an uptick of Covid-19 infections.
Below is the list of the new essential service providers who will be allowed to pass the police roadblocks and go about their duties during curfew hours.
1. Medical professionals
2. Health workers
3. National security officers
4. Licensed pharmaceutical companies
5. Licensed media houses and broadcasters
6. Kenya Railways Corporation staff
7. Kenya Ports Authority staff
8. Kenya Pipeline Corporation staff
9. Kenya Pipeline Company and distribution staff
10. Water service providers
11. Kenya Revenue Authority staff
12. Kenya Airport Authority staff
13. Kenya Airways staff
14. Kenya Civil Aviation Authority staff
15. Licensed supermarkets and mini markets and supermarkets
16. Fire brigade and emergency response services
17. Licensed security firms
18. Postal courier services
19. Retailers of petroleum and oil products
