Friday, January 21, 2022 – Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Jr., has said Deputy President William Ruto‘s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party will perform better in the Ukambani region in August.
Speaking on Friday, Mutula who is also Wiper Democratic Movement Deputy Party leader, said Ruto and his team will perform better because former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is poor in strategising.
Mutula said Raila Odinga’s reliance on the three Ukambani governors; Alfred Mutua of Machakos, Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni, and Kitui’s Charity Ngilu to campaign for him will cost him dearly in August.
The senator, who is a close ally of Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, stated that should Raila go ahead with the strategy, Ruto will vanquish him in Ukambani.
“The impression is created that Kalonzo does not have control of Makueni because Kibwana is there, he doesn’t have Machakos because Mutua is there and Kitui because Charity Ngilu is there.
“The reality is none of them will get anything,” Mutula said.
“Having governors as pillars in Ukambani is the wrong narrative.
“In that regard, therefore, Azimio will be rejected in Ukambani. UDA will do better,” Mutula added.
