Friday, January 21, 2022 – Kakamega Senator, Cleophas Malala, has explained why Amani National Congress(ANC) party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has not invited Deputy President William Ruto for his party’s National Delegates Conference(NDC) to be held on Sunday at the Bomas of Kenya.
In an interview with one of the local dailies on Thursday, Malala, who is a close friend of Mudavadi, said they refused to invite DP Ruto because they treat him as their competitor.
“We are only inviting our friends, not our competitors. Ruto is our friend but still our competitor. We have not invited him,” Malala said.
ANC Secretary-General, Simon Gikuru, has however confirmed that the One Kenya Alliance(OKA) co-principals are all invited.
OKA Principals include Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi, Ford Kenya supremo Moses Wetang’ula and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo.
“We have already invited OKA principals. I have not seen any invitation for Raila. Neither have I seen one for Jubilee.
“Why would we invite our competitors when we are launching our bid for the presidency? To come and do what?” Gikuru posed.
