I don’t fear losing to RUTO’s UDA – Treasury CS UKUR YATANI reveals why he refused to resign and vie for the Marsabit Governor seat.

Thursday, February 10, 2022 – Treasury Cabinet Secretary, Ukur Yatani, has revealed the reason why he has refused to resign to vie for the Marsabit gubernatorial seat in August.

Earlier, Yatani who was campaigning for former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Movement had declared interest in Marsabit’s governor position.

However, on Tuesday, Yatani refused to resign sparking speculation that he had refused to resign because he has realised he will lose the seat to United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate.

But according to reports, Yatani refused to resign so that he may help the outgoing President Kenyatta to achieve his goals.

The CS indicated that the position he is holding in the national government is very crucial, especially during this time when there will be a transition of the government, and for that reason, he can’t let down President Kenyatta by resigning.

The SC advised his county residents to vote for all leaders who are vying for different political positions under the Azimio La Umoja camp in the forthcoming general elections including supporting Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
