I was sharing the same cell with RAILA ODINGA in Kamiti Maximum Prison – MAINA NJENGA says and shares details of his relationship with JAKOM!

Sunday, February 20, 2022 – Former Mungiki Leader, Maina Njenga, has revealed details of his relationship with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, characterizing him as a devoted confidant throughout the years.

In an interview with NTV on Saturday, Njenga said though they are neigbours with Raila Odinga in Karen, their friendship dates back to the 1980s when Raila was sent to prison for fighting for democracy and liberation of the country.

Maina Njenga revealed that he met Raila when he was only 20 years old and that their friendship has grown since then.

Njenga further said that they had gone through similar trials as the ODM party leader and that in the end, they both fought the odds and rose like the fabled phoenix from the ashes.

“Many people are unaware that I live next door to the ODM leader in Karen.

“He’s been a long-time friend of mine. I first met Raila when I was 20 years old.

“When he was struggling to put the country back together, I believed in what he was doing.

“We have a lot in common, including the fact that I was imprisoned in the same cell as Raila,” Maina said.

“People have rejected Raila and me, but after a while, we have seen people welcome us again.

“They were acting in this manner due to ignorance,” Maina added.
