Is DP RUTO intentionally avoiding Luo Nyanza in his campaigns? – Look! You won’t believe this.

Sunday, February 13, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza brigade cleverly avoided Luo Nyanza during their ‘earthquake’ rallies ahead of the August 9, General Election.

So far, Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza partners, among them Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, have visited most regions save for Luo Nyanza in their tours to popularize and enhance their yet-to-be-registered coalition’s visibility.

In Nyanza, DP Ruto and his team have paid visits to Kisii and Nyamira counties but have not been to Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori for obvious reasons.

According to the latest data from Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, the Nyanza region has 3,081,981 registered voters and any serious presidential contender would salivate for the region.

On the contrary, DP Ruto and his new political friends have visited Luhya land more than five times since that ‘earthquake’ announcement,

The Luo Nyanza region has also shown some form of hostility to DP Ruto during his past trips, which could be the reason behind their decision not to campaign vigorously.

Ruto’s last political tour of Luo Nyanza counties was characterized by violence when a section of youths attempted to disrupt his rally in Kisumu. He accused Raila Odinga of inciting his followers against other political opponents.

“Kisumu belongs to everyone. In this country, we should not be stoned and the gentleman (Raila Odinga) is just quiet,

“Let him talk to us about Kibra and Kondele and the violence that he (Raila Odinga) organizes. We want to get rid of political intolerance in this country,” said Ruto in reference to violence witnessed in Kisumu during his rally.
