Tuesday, February 22, 2022 – In this season of surprise guests during political parties’ National Delegates Conference (NDCs), former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has one also this Saturday.
The ODM leader has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta as his surprise guest to grace their National Delegates Convention (NDC) where he is expected to be nominated as ODM presidential candidate.
According to ODM National Chairman John Mbadi, the party had invited President Uhuru Kenyatta in his capacity as the Jubilee Party leader alongside other local and international dignitaries.
“This year’s ODM NDC will be unique because we expect to have guests who have never joined us in such an event. We have invited the President in his capacity as the party leader for Jubilee. We hope and expect him to attend,” said Mbadi.
Mbadi added that the NDC will only be open to legitimate delegates and guests, advising the general public to follow the proceeding on television and online platforms.
“We will first have the delegates somewhere where we will scrutinize them before they are taken to Kasarani.
“We will ensure that only those who are supposed to attend are in the meeting,” he said.
“The National Delegates Convention is not a public rally but a legal and constitutional meeting where only delegates meet to make important decisions for the party and on behalf of the rest of the party membership. Only accredited delegates, observers, and media personnel will be allowed into the venues of both meetings,” he said.
