Monday, February 21, 2022 – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga took his Azimio La Umoja Movement campaigns to Mombasa county on Sunday, where he was received by a mammoth crowd at Tononoka Grounds.
The Tononoka rally was organised by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, who is also Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) deputy party leader.
However, chaotic scenes rocked the rally when the Mombasa aspirants were busy introducing themselves, prompting Ali Hassan Joho to intervene.
Joho quickly took the podium and directed the aspirants to sit down as he cooled down the crowd that had already started turning violent.
Joho can be heard saying, “Tulieni huu ni Mkutano Wa Baba.”
Some members of the crowd scampered for their safety as security agents responded and cooled down the angry youths.
Raila Odinga watched helplessly as the youth pelted stones towards the dais.
