UHURU should NEVER allow RUTO to hold a rally near his village home in Gatundu and abuse him there – DONALD KIPKORIR

Friday, March 18, 2022 – Prominent city lawyer, Donald Kipkorir, has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to allow his estranged Deputy, William Ruto, to hold a political rally in his village.

On Friday, the Deputy President is expected to take his hustler campaigns to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Kiambu backyard.

However, lawyer Kipkorir has advised the Head of State to follow the example of his predecessors including Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Danie Moi, and Mwai Kibaki.Korir, a fierce critic of William Ruto, claimed that Presidents who preceded Uhuru did not allow their political nemesis to hold political rallies in their backyards.

“When Jomo Kenyatta was President, the opposition never held a rally in Gatundu. When Daniel Arap Moi was President, no opposition rally was held in Sacho. When Mwai Kibaki was President, the opposition didn’t go to Gatuyaini. It will be an error if Uhuru lets this tradition be broken,” Korir said.

According to a poster by Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, the Kenya Kwanza leaders are expected to tour Kiambu East, where they will make several stopovers to address area residents.

The leaders who will be led by UDA presidential flag bearer, William Ruto, will address residents of Gatukuyu, Gituamba, Mataara, Kamwangi Gatundu Town, Mutomo, Kiganjo, and Kiamwangi which are all on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s turf.

The tour comes after several leaders from the President’s home County declared support for his bid.

Already, outspoken legislator Moses Kuria of the Chama Cha Kazi has officially endorsed Deputy President William Ruto for the presidency.

Over the weekend, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi joined UDA saying the decision to switch camps was made after intensive consultations between him and the electorate.
