Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – Jubilee Party Vice-chairman David Murathe has dismissed Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria’s claims that they helped President Uhuru Kenyatta rig the 2013 and 2017 Presidential elections.
Kuria, who spoke during the United Democratic Alliance (UDA)’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) at Kasarani Gymnasium yesterday, said they were involved in all manner of electoral malpractices to ensure Uhuru won the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.
“Some people are saying that the Mt Kenya votes will be divided; Governor Anne Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi… we are the ones who protected Uhuru’s votes and we are the one who rigged for his votes,” Kuria said.
In response to the remarks, Murathe denied Uhuru rigged the polls and said the President won fair and square.
He said the Head of State did a well-choreographed campaign that saw them win the polls fairly, adding that the vote-rigging allegations are something they are not aware of.
Murathe, who is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s drinking buddy, concluded by urging the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to summon Kuria so that he can clarify how they rigged elections.
