Tuesday, October 24, 2023 – Former Mungiki leader, Maina Njenga, has revealed what Azimio One Alliance leaders are waiting for before they can resume their third wave of anti-government protests.
The opposition alliance conducted a series of anti-government protests in the past months as they tried to compel the government to address some of their issues.
However, the Raila-led coalition called off the protests after the government agreed to dialogue with them and the subsequent creation of the National Dialogue Committee.
Njenga, who was speaking to Radio Maisha on Monday morning, took pride in the demos, saying that it resulted in the National Dialogue Committee that is currently addressing the sticky issues.
The opposition allied leader says that they have cooled down currently as they are waiting for the outcome from the Kalonzo and Ichung’wa-led committees.
“The ongoing dialogue is a result of the mass action that we in Azimio conducted in the country. They have their own issues and we also have ours.”
“We are waiting for the delegates’ dialogue and to give us feedback. We are waiting for the result and that is why you can see we have cooled down.” Maina Njenga said.
The National Dialogue Committee was formed by the Kenya Kwanza government and the Azimio team to address issues that arose from the 2022 polls.
