"We need a law that says women who have kids with foreigners forfeit their SA citizenship" - South African man says

 Sunday, July 28, 2024 - A South African man has said that there should be a law that mandates women to forfeit their SA citizenship if they have children with foreigners.

He stated this on Thursday, July 25, after a South African lady who has a child with a Nigerian man praised Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a 2024 Miss South Africa pageant finalist.

The 23-year-old law student and model born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a Mozambique/ South African mother, has been facing xenophobic backlash and torrent of abuse from South Africans who claim she's not qualified to contest in the pageant due to her Nigerian heritage.

“We need a law that says women who have kids with foreigners forfeit their SA citizenship. They are reproducing foreigners and their loyalty lies with foreign countries,” the South African X user wrote.
