You want me gone? Wait for 2027! Leadership is not determined by social media or protests – RUTO now tells Gen Zs

Tuesday July 30, 2024 - President William Ruto has vowed to deal ruthlessly with the Gen Zs who are protesting and demanding for his resignation.

Speaking yesterday, Ruto affirmed that he will not allow Gen Zs and millennials to destroy the country with their protests.

According to Ruto, Kenya's leadership is not determined by social media, violence, or protests but by citizens on the ballot box, and therefore urged the Gen Zs and Millennials to wait for 2027 if they want him gone.

"Kenya is a democratic country, and the citizens are the ones who decide the leadership from MCA to the President. Kenya's leadership is not determined by social media, protests, or violence," remarked Ruto.

The Head of State urged Kenyans to unite, defend the country, and forge ahead together.

At the same time, Ruto, who is on a development tour of the Coast region, announced the resumption of the construction of the stalled Mombasa- Kilifi Highway.

"I came to launch this road that begins at Nyali-Bridge to Kilifi through Mtwapa, the contractor is already on site," he said.

Ruto mentioned that the Government had set aside billions to connect residents to electricity in the Coast region.

"We have set aside Ksh5 billion to ensure that 100,000 residents are connected to the national electricity grid. Electricity should not be a privilege of the rich but for every Kenyan," said Ruto.
