Friday, September 13, 2024 - A man thought he could escape police by jumping into a bin, but was proved wrong in a shocking video.
The man, who is currently unnamed, was stopped by cops while
he was driving a suspicious vehicle in Frederickson, Washington, US. After
being stopped, he ditched the car and then jumped several fences in an attempt
to run away.
The officers didn’t give up that quickly, however, and
brought out the sniffer dog, Bronco, experienced in tracking down criminals.
Officers wore body cams, which captured the dramatic chase.
The man appeared to disappear, but the dog dragged officers
as he appeared to pick up a scent.
Onlookers were confused when the dog dragged the police to a larger blue bin which appeared to be overspilling. It was placed outside a building next to several other black bins.
An officer lifted the lid to find the suspect inside.
In the video, officers asked him to come out and warned
about the dog.
“Hey dude, come out of there right now or you’re going to
get bit by a dog,” police could be heard saying.
The dog continued to bark as the man took a while to emerge.
When he eventually did, he raised his hands up in surrender and appeared to be
completely naked, despite being dressed in the initial chase.
“Hands up, hands up,’ yelled the officers. Stand up. Turn
around.”
The man emerged and gave the officials an eyeful as he faced his back to them with his hands behind his head.
“Don’t worry about the dog,” said the handler, who was
restraining the animal.
The man was then taken into custody without attempting to
flee again.
“This suspect continuously tried to evade law enforcement
until he came eye to eye with K9 Bronco," the department stated. “Only
wearing a birthday suit, he finally made a good decision and surrendered to our
deputies.”
The man was found to have several warrants out for his
arrest anyway and a known firearm possessor.
He will be tried in court.
