Actor JOHN AMOS' family 'refuse to rule out possibility of foul play' in his death as they turn on his son

Friday, October 04, 2024 - The family of late actor John Amos has refused to rule out the possibility of foul play in his death and blaming his son.

It was revealed that he passed away from natural causes on August 21, though his only daughter Shannon Amos revealed that most of her family found out through the media and added they are, 'left with many questions' about how this could happen.

Earlier this week, the actor's son Kelly Christopher 'KC' Amos released a statement, confirming his father's death.'

However, another member of the Amos family, the actor's goddaughter Amy Goudy posted a lengthy statement on her Facebook, accusing KC, along with Eugene Brummet and Belinda Foster, of isolating Amos from the rest of his family.

She adds that the rest of the family that signed the statement - including daughter Shannon, brother Leslie Franklin, and others - are 'not ruling out foul play' in his death.

'Our family statement: Please note that this statement is being released by the collective family and close friends of John Amos,' they begin.

'It is with profound sadness and distress that we must share the circumstances surrounding our father’s passing. He was a loving man who brought light into the lives of many,' they begin.

'However, our family only learned of his death today through media reports, only to discover he actually passed away 45 days ago. Shockingly, we were not notified, nor were any family members informed,' they added.

'This tragic news has left us in shock and heartache. We do not have a death certificate, nor do we know where or why he died, but we know he was suffering from congestive heart failure and dementia. We fear he was likely cremated to avoid any potential investigation into the conditions surrounding his final days,' they added, before revealing how KC and others started isolating him.

'Over the past year, John Amos was isolated from his family and close friends by Kelly "KC" Amos, Eugene Brummet, and Belinda Foster. Despite our repeated attempts to maintain contact, KC prevented access to him, controlled and monitored his calls and severed ties with John's daughter Shannon Amos, his brother Leslie "Syl" Franklin, his grandchildren Quiera Colston and Jhazz Williams, his business manager Paul Baldessare, his god-daughter Amy Goudy, his niece Sherri Korsun, his former accountant and other close family members, friends, and loved ones,' the statement continued.

'KC portrayed an image of a close father-son relationship on social media, but the reality was far more complex. Our father suffered from dementia, and KC often gave John verbal prompts to create a narrative on social media that was not reflective of the truth,' the family added.

'We were deeply concerned that our father may have been neglected and isolated during his final days as we received photos from concerned neighbours and a medical professional. One photo even prompted an Elder Abuse investigation to no avail,' they said.

It seems KC has done this before, with his own mother, as the statement adds, 'This situation mirrors Shannon and KC's mother's passing. KC also prevented family members from being present and making decisions together. Shannon fought to be by her mother’s side, and ensured she had agency over her final days.'

'The family also questions why no medical professionals, coroner, or authorities informed us of his passing, and why KC did not notify any family member directly,' the statement adds.

'We believe there are critical questions that need answers, especially since we believe KC likely made the decision to have John Amos cremated without the family’s knowledge. We suspect these actions may have been taken to alter potential wills and collect life insurance or other benefits. This is made even more concerning by KC's struggles with addiction and mental health issues, as well as his previous arrests.

'While we mourn the loss of our beloved father, we are also saddened and outraged by KC Amos's actions. We refuse to rule out the possibility of foul play, especially given the involvement of two individuals, Eugene Brummer and Belinda Foster (who claims to have been John's spokesperson), who we believe may have taken advantage of his vulnerability as an elder,' they added.

'At a time when we should be grieving and celebrating our father's remarkable life, we find ourselves in the unfortunate position of seeking justice and clarity,' the statement concluded, signed by Shannon Amos (Daughter), Quiera Williams (Grand-daughter), Jasper and Nakia Willams (Son in Law & Wife), Amy Goudy (God-Daughter), Paul Baldessare (Business Manager), Leslie Franklin (Brother), Willie Quinney (Best Friend) and Sherri Korsun-Scott (Niece).

The actor's death certificate has been obtained by TMZ, confirming the family's fears that Amos was cremated on August 30, just nine days after his death.

The death certificate also lists the cause of death as congestive heart failure, with KC listed as the 'informant,' meaning he informed the authorities of his father's passing.

It also reveals that KC is in possession of the cremated remains, and no autopsy was performed.

Shannon Amos also posted on her Instagram story that, 'Someone was in the ER the night my father died and pretended to be his daughter. I'm his only daughter. We believe it was Belinda Foster, the woman also posing as his publicist. He died alone without family. Anyone who knows anything please DM me! Any info shared will be confidential.'
