KEHLANI addresses disturbing claim by her ex of having inappropriate relationship with their daughter and being in a cult

Saturday, November 16, 2024 - US singer, Kehlani has responded to allegations that she considers herself to be in an “inappropriate relationship” with her own daughter.

The speculation came from legal documents from her ex Javaughn Young-White in their custody battle that circulated social media on Wednesday, November 13.

In the filing, Young-White states that the singer “claims to see spirits and believes our daughter’s spirit was one of Kehlani’s wives in a past life.”

The documents include a screenshot of a text conversation between the former couple in which Young-White asks: “What area of the world did this past life person say Adeya [their daughter] is from” and Kehlani replies: “south amurrrica she was my wife once lol.”

After being attacked online over the claim, Kehlani took to Instagram to set the record straight and vehemently deny the “heartbreaking” accusation.

The 29-year-old artiste clarified that the “past life” claim about her daughter came from a spiritual reading and that her “lighthearted recap” to Young-White has been taken out of context.

Alongside screenshots of their full text conversation, Kehlani wrote: “[A]s a person that has always gotten little readings here and there, i was connected to an older woman for a ‘past life’ reading. i shared what i considered to be a lighthearted recap with my child’s father, laughing at it & considering it something light & not to be taken serious.

“[T]o have those screenshots then doctored, the rest of messages left out, to make me seem like i consider myself to be in an inappropriate relationship with my DAUGHTER.. is the most heartbreak[ing] thing i’ve ever fucking heard.”

She continued: “[I]’ve been silent, i’ve taken the public beating. i’ve been addressing all of these things where i should, in COURT. i’ve sat there and watched the public only have access to ONE SIDE of things. but THIS is where i absolutely draw the line.

“[I] do NOT, and have NEVER considered myself in any sort of inappropriate relationship with my child. the rest of these absolutely monstrous allegations are being addressed in court. thank you.”

The former couple’s custody battle has been dramatic since Javaughn Young-White filed a paternity petition in August.

After Kehlani was granted a temporary restraining order against him later that month, Young-White denied her claims that he was abusive towards her during their relationship.

Young-White also accused the Grammy-nominated singer of making false rape and abuse allegations when relationships fall apart.

“When she cheated on her last girlfriend Kiara, she alleged the person she was cheating with raped her,” he wrote on social media alongside a screenshot of a text message backing up his claim. “Kiara later found out that wasn’t true. She alleges rape and abuse when she has nothing else to cling to.”

Meanwhile, Kehlani has accused Young-White of threatening her safety, consuming lots of drugs and posing a danger to their child when under the influence
