STL causes a stir in Nairobi’s CBD; Brings business to a standstill (Photos)

Friday, 25 September 2015 - Award winning Kenyan female rapper, STL was among thousands of environmentalists who thronged the streets of Nairobi for a procession marking the start of the annual celebration of Nobel laureate Wangari Maathai.

The celebrations are meant to teach the younger generations of the contribution the late conservationist had in preserving the environment as well as continue the work she started.

Nature lovers, who were commemorating Wangari Mathai converged in Nairobi’s Jeevanjee Garden, for the procession that usually culminates with planting of trees at Karura forest in honor of Maathai.

STL joined the thousands of participants, who brought traffic in the CBD to a standstill as they matched through the city streets, as part of her latest campaign dubbed #ChukuaHatua.

“I woke up this morning and realized i dont have what it takes to sit back and do nothing. #ChukuaHatua #MyLittleThing” STL said after participating in the event .

Below are some photos from today’s procession, whose theme this year is Climate Change.
