Why everyone is talking about DIAMOND PLATINUMZ: He did this in Milan, ITALY

Monday, 26 October 2015 - Last night the 2015 MTV Europe Music Awards went down in Milan, Italy where just a week after beating Davido, Yemi Alade and AKA to win the Best African Act, Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz also beat the best Indian music acts to take home the award for Best Worldwide Act (African/India) at the star studded broadcast, which saw performances from Justine Bieber, Pharrell Williams and many more.

Best known for his hit single Number One, Diamond could not hide his joy after receiving the coveted award.  In his acceptance message, he thanked his fans for the immense support saying. 

“This is not my Trophy, it’s our trophy, me and You!.. because i believe without your Votes i wouldn’t have made it… wanna thank God my Africa and All WorldWide fans, My fellow Artists, Media without forgeting my Family and Management….Many thanks to @MtvEma & @mtvbaseafrica for recognize my efforts.”

Fan and artistes from across the continent have taken to the superstar's social media pages to congratulate him for his major achievement. 

Diamond is now the most awarded artist in Africa.
