Mr.President(since I have no confidence to refer to you as “Your Excellency”), allow me to pour out my very personal feelings as a teacher, a trade Unionist and a voter in this country.
The teachers strike brought to the fore what I have always felt all along, that you are incompetent through and through as a public servant. You actually do not deserve to occupy State house under the current constitution. Below are the harsh realities that your heartless administration has subjected our members to:
1. You denied our members their September salary, in total contravention of the Labour Relations Act, the Employment Act and the general rules that govern Employer Vs Employee relationship under the International Labour Organisation(ILO).
2. You refused to remit(and even deduct) Unions dues for the teachers Unions for three months knowing too well that we needed that cash to sustain our legal battles against your mediocre regime.
3. During the strike, you kept on misleading the public with your hurriedly “cooked” up figures about our pay, at one point even quoting a wrong figure for the lowest paid teacher. This compounded the fact that you are not only clueless but literally hands off when it comes to matters affecting the common man.
4. In your manifesto, you promised my son a lap top while he enrolled for his studies in class one. Up to date, you are yet to deliver even a mere toy-like flash disk. As far as he is concerned, you are just one of the several conmen in town.
5. While denying our members the 50-60% pay awarded by our Lord Nduma Nderi, you insisted that the govt had no money to sustain such an award, your infamous “can’t pay, won’t pay’, statement is still fresh in our minds. However, your govt has continued to steal public funds on a daily basis, led by one Anne Waiguru, your most “favourite” cabinet secretary.
As it is now, Mr.President, I can tell you for free that teachers are a frustrated lot of public servants. Three colleagues took their own lives because of the strike aftermath, one in your own backyard of Nyandarua County……you must be ashamed.
Several colleagues have been blacklisted by financial institutions following their failure to service their loan facilities. As we speak, so many of our teachers are not credit worthy.
To justify that the strike had no impact in the national examinations, you refused to order for the cancellation of the KCSE National exams when reports of massive leakage reached your desk.
Generally speaking Mr.President, its a shame that you were ever allowed to rule this country. As an individual voter, I will do anything that is humanly possible to ensure that you are not sown in for a second term. I really don’t care whether other Kenyans will have voted for you, or whether you will steal elections like you did last time, the thing is that you need to be out of State house, for your own good.
I don’t know of any other person whom I dislike in this country that much…….but honestly speaking, I hate you Mr.President.
For our members, my humble request is that we must remain united against UHURUTO. Let’s stay above this state house drama that took place yesterday. Our voters cards are intact.
I rest my case.
