Friday, January 21, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto has opened up about his strained relationship with ODM Leader Raila Odinga, revealing the reasons that led to their falling out.
Addressing a mammoth rally in Machakos yesterday, Ruto sensationally claimed that he cut links with Raila after he realized that he doesn’t love God.
However, he noted that he does not hold any personal vendetta with his 2022 presidential challenger.
“I don’t have a problem with him, I even helped him become prime minister.
“When I realized that he does not love God, I left him alone,” Ruto said.
He further accused Raila, who recently announced that he will be giving a fifth stab at the presidency, of ever complaining about the church.
“If you get someone complaining about the church there is a problem,” he added.
Ruto, who was in Kang’undo to popularise his Bottom Up Economic model ahead of his titanic battle with the former Prime Minister, said he left Raila to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
He, however, said that the former vice-president has gone through so many frustrations as a result of supporting Raila Odinga.
“I left him to Kalonzo and nowadays you can see Kalonzo has no hair because of his association with Raila,” Ruto added.
While courting the Wiper leader to join his political camp, the deputy president lauded Kalonzo Musyoka for insisting that he will not be supporting Raila in the August 9, General Election.
“Kalonzo is tired, he said he would not support Raila again,” he stated.
