Friday, 21 January 2022 – Esther Wambui, the 18-year-old lady who was brutally murdered in Ruiru and her body dumped outside Recce Squad camp, was a school dropout.
According to her father, Mzee Samuel Mbugua, she left home without informing anyone after abandoning school and travelled to Nairobi, where she got married.
He later received a call from her 23-year-old husband informing him that he and Wambui were married.
“I told him they had my blessings and I did not have any problems with their decision,” he said.
Wambui had been married for only 7 months.
Her husband is the prime suspect in the brutal murder after he gave conflicting reports when he was questioned by detectives.
