Friday, January 21, 2022 – ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s nephew, Jaoko Oburu, has thrown his hat in the ring with an eye on Lang’ata Parliamentary seat that was once held by his uncle.
In a post shared on his official Facebook account on Wednesday, Jaoko hinted that he will be battling out for the seat on an ODM ticket.
Raila Odinga’s nephew, who is the current County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Public Works in Siaya County Government, asked voters to register in large numbers to help him achieve his dreams.
“Kura yako ni sauti yako (your vote is your voice),” he posted as he shared a poster showing his political interest.
Jaoko is the son of former Siaya Senator and current East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Oburu Odinga.
Oburu is an elder brother to presidential hopeful Raila Odinga.
He is expected to battle it out with comedian and media personality Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, City-based lawyer and Raila Odinga’s aide Silas Jakakimba among others.
Lang’ata seat is currently occupied by Nixion Korir, an ardent supporter of Deputy President William Ruto.
