Friday, January 21, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto may be headed for a humiliating defeat come August due to weak candidates his UDA is fronting for various seats.
Already, a section of his allies has protested his lineup in Nairobi, saying the UDA candidates will be humiliated by Raila Odinga’s Azimio candidates.
Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, and politician cum socialite Karen Nyamu are considered to be UDA front runners in various elective seats in Nairobi County.
Margaret Wanjiru has expressed interest in the city gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket, where she is expected to battle it out with billionaire Richard Ngatia, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi, and Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja among others.
The scandalous Karen Nyamu, who recently joined William Ruto’s UDA, is going for the Nairobi Senatorial seat. She is expected to battle it out with ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
On the other side, Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga is going for the Nairobi Woman Rep position and will be facing city politicians Wangui Ng’ang’a and Esther Passaris of Azimio.
According to Hellen Njeri, a Dubai-based Kenyan banker who recently offered to work for Deputy President William Ruto for free, UDA has very weak candidates for the Nairobi County top seats since none is qualified nor strong enough to face their opponents.
