Friday, January 21, 2022 – ODM Leader Raila Odinga has been given a red card not to attend ANC’s National Delegates Conference to be held this Sunday.
This is after ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi refused to invite him to the event, where he is expected to make the earth-shaking announcement on the way forward ahead of the August elections.
According to the ANC, Raila is not welcome to attend their National Delegates Conference as he is a competitor to their cause.
The party Secretary-General Simon Gikuru said the party’s secretariat has already begun sending out invitations to leaders for the National Delegates Conference to be held at Bomas of Kenya.
“We have already invited OKA principals. I have not seen any invitation for Raila. Neither have I seen one for Jubilee.
“Why would we invite our competitors when we are launching our bid for the presidency? To come and do what?” asked ANC Secretary-General Simon Gikuru.
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna confirmed not receiving any invitation from Mudavadi’s Party.
“As a party, I can confirm that we have not received any invitation,” ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna told
Already Speaker of the National Assembly Democratic Party presidential hopeful, Justin Muturi, has received his invitation for the ANC event.
Taking to his social media, Speaker Muturi thanked ANC for extending him the invitation.
It is not clear if Deputy President William Ruto has been invited to attend Mudavadi’s big event.
The failure of ANC to extend an invitation to Odinga is not surprising as the party questioned Kalonzo Musyoka’s loyalty to OKA when Wiper invited Raila to its NDC.
“You cannot invite our biggest rival (Raila) to an OKA linked event. Then it is quite clear that you are in the OKA outfit as Raila’s project which begs the question on why you should not quit and make arrangements with ODM as early as now,” Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala said.
