Thursday, 17 March 2022 – Motorists and passers-by were treated to a free drama along Mombasa Road after a biker engaged in a fierce fight with a traffic police officer.
According to those who witnessed the incident, the biker was stopped by a traffic police officer, leading to an argument.
Things escalated during the argument and this led to a fight.
The biker wrestled the cop to the ground and beat him like a bukurenge before members of the public came to his rescue.
Assaulting a police officer is a very serious offence in Kenya.
According to Section 103 (a) of the National Police Service Act No. 11 (A) of 2011, offences related to assault of police can attract a fine not exceeding 1 million shillings, imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or to both.
