Here is KIMANI WAMATANGI’s response to UHURU after he was ousted as Senate Majority Chief whip for joining RUTO’s UDA.

Thursday, March 17, 2022 – It is now official that Kiambu County Senator, Kimani Wamatangi, is no longer the Senate Majority Chief Whip after he was axed from the position on Thursday.

Wamatangi was axed by Jubilee Party leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly joining Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Wamatangi, who has been a close ally of the President, joined UDA last week and according to sources, the President was hit very hard by his defection.

However, speaking on Thursday after he was removed as senate leader, Wamatangi said he was ready for such consequences since his electorate had warned him that they will not re-elect if he is still in the Jubilee Party.

The outspoken legislator said he dumped Jubilee Party after the Kiambu county electorate urged him to join UDA or be sent to the political dustbin with Uhuru in 2022.

“The most popular party in Kiambu is UDA, I don’t have a problem with Jubilee, the ground told me to move to UDA,” Wamatangi stated.
