Thursday, March 17, 2022 – Gatundu South Member of Parliament, Moses Kuria, has denied saying that the 2017 presidential election was rigged in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kuria, who attended United Democratic Alliance’s National Delegates Conference (UDA) on Tuesday, was caught on camera saying they rigged the 2017 election in favor of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Akili Yote iliweka Uhuru kwa kiti iko hapa, ile iko Azimio La Umoja ni mwili pekee. Sisi ndo tulikuwa tunamuibia uhuru kura,” kuria said.
Kuria’s sentiments sparked countrywide condemnation with many Kenyans asking the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to summon Kuria so that he can clear the air on vote-rigging claims.
However, the vocal legislator has now dismissed such allegations, claiming that he didn’t utter such a statement.
“Ben Githae is my witness. Tuliimbia uhuru ndani ndani, ndani mpaka akashinda,” Kuria who is also Chama Cha Kazi party leader said.
