Thursday, March 17, 2022 – Meru County Governor, Kiraitu Murungi, has finally revealed the man who will be former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s running mate during the August 9th Presidential election.
Raila, 77, is yet to name his running mate but Kiraitu, who was having an interview with one of the local FM stations, said he already knows who will be Raila Odinga’s deputy in August.
Kiraitu dismissed claims that former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka or former Gatanga Constituency Member of Parliament Peter Kenneth may deputise Raila in August.
With a lot of confidence, Kiraitu said the position of a running mate has been preserved for Mt Kenya region, and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Peter Munya has been chosen as the ideal candidate to deputise Raila in August.
“Raila is offering the second position to our son Munya. We have not heard anything like that in Kenya Kwanza. We will fight hard to ensure Munya gets the position because Meru has never occupied the presidency”, Kiraitu stated.
