Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – ODM Leader Raila Odinga has confirmed Deputy President William Ruto’s worst nightmare that President Uhuru Kenyatta is going nowhere after the August 9th General Election.
Speaking during an interview with BBC’s Sophie Ikenye, Raila revealed that he may hire Uhuru as his personal advisor, among other job offers, if he wins the August 9, presidential election.
He noted even though the Head of state will be retiring, he will still have some other roles to play in the Kenyan political space.
He said other than vying for the presidency, the Kenyan Constitution does not bar President Uhuru from serving his country in other capacities such as working as a diplomat.
“Yes, he will be an advisor just as I have done in his government. He can also focus on helping us with advice on the economy and he can take up roles such as mine in foreign diplomacy.
“There are many roles President Kenyatta can take up after his retirement,” Raila Odinga said.
Meanwhile, Kenya Kwanza leaders led by deputy president William Ruto have warned Kenyans against electing Raila as president.
According to ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi, Uhuru is heavily supporting his handshake partner to take over from him so that he can use him to continue ruling the country even after his retirement.
