Thursday, March 17, 2022 – United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s special trade envoy to Kenya, MP Theodora Roosevelt Clarke, who doubles up as the Member of Parliament for Stafford in the UK, has broken her silence hours after meeting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in UK parliament on Wednesday.
Taking it to her Twitter handle, the MP did not disclose the finer details of her discussion with the former Kenyan Prime Minister but expressed her delight and joy in meeting the State House hopeful.
“It was great listening to William Ruto’s speech at Chatham House last week and today, as the vice-chair of Africa affairs, I was delighted to host Raila Odinga in the UK Parliament,” Clarke wrote on her Twitter page minutes after meeting Raila Odinga.
Clarke did not personally meet Ruto when he visited the country last week but she had a chance to listen to his speech at Chatham House where he disclosed his international plans for Kenya.
It is not yet clear why Clarke didn’t praise Raila Odinga since he also delivered a speech at Chatham House on Wednesday.
Jubilee Party blogger, Pauline Njoroge, and former Gatanga MP, Peter Kenneth, are among those accompanying Raila to the UK.
