Friday, March 18, 2022 – A section of Kikuyu community elders has warned Deputy President William Ruto of deadly consequences if he and his team continue abusing President Uhuru Kenyatta in public rallies.
The elders, led by Wachira wa Kiago and Ndung’u Gaithuma (Kiama Kiama), said Ruto’s pursuit for power is worrying, and he risks being cursed if he continues attacking Uhuru and his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta.
Wachira said Ruto should learn patience from former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has severally attempted to vie for the presidency without success.
“The deputy president has shown his real identity and he should stop inciting the people of Mount Kenya region during his campaign rallies,” Wachira said.
Wagaithuma, on his part, urged Ruto to stop inciting the electorate as it could lead to bloodshed.
“The Kikuyu community resolves that we will not tolerate any acts or utterances that could lead to bloodshed and destruction of life and property.
“We urge all Kenyans to reject incitement to violence and disorder for political reasons,” Wagaithuma stated.
