Friday, February 10, 2023 – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga breathed fire on Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, and other ODM rebels who pledged to work and support Kenya Kwanza government after meeting President William Ruto at State House on Tuesday.
While addressing a Parliamentary Group meeting in Machakos County, Raila warned the leaders against taking part in what he termed as political pr*stituti*n.
He told Azimio MPs to stick to their cause of fighting for justice and avoid hiding behind the quest for development to sabotage plans by the coalition.
According to Raila, Jalang’o and his friends should resign from ODM immediately and seek a fresh mandate from the electorate.
“The Members of Parliament who defected need to resign and go, and seek a fresh mandate from the electorate” Raila ordered.
“Very cheap, unprincipled for a political party to say after the election you are now resigning and going to join the coalition that you ran against,” Raila cautioned.
He termed the MPs who met Ruto as self-seeking individuals who must be rejected by their voters at all costs.
“On what basis did UDM resign to go to the other side, even before the speaker was elected. What is now more attractive in Kenya kwanza than Azimio?" Raila asserted.
