Monday, October 23, 2023 – One of former President Uhuru Kenyatta‘s lawyers has said that President William Ruto is planning to drop Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate during the 2027 Presidential election.
Ruto picked Gachagua as his running mate last year and the duo went ahead and won the presidency after beating former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running mate, Martha Karua.
However, after winning the presidency, Ruto and Gachagua seem to be reading from different scripts, and according to Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, the political bromance between the two is over and the Head of State is planning how to drop Gachagua as his running mate during the 2027 presidential election.
Ndegwa noted the President may be considering a new running mate who can better resonate with the electorate’s current concerns and priorities.
“In 2027, Nabii Zakayo Ruto will drop the primitive man Gachagua as his running mate,” Ndegwa, who is a fierce critic of Gachagua wrote on his X platform on Monday.
