WILLIAM KABOGO urges GACHAGUA to stop talking about MT KENYA UNITY – Urges him to speak about this.

Monday, October 23, 2023 – Former Kiambu County Governor, William Kabogo, has urged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to stop talking about Mt Kenya unity.

In an interview with Spice FM on Monday, Kabogo urged Gachagua that he is the Deputy President of Kenya and he has the mandate to unite all Kenyans across all tribes and not just the Mt Kenya region.

The ex-governor urged Gachagua to address the issue of the One-Man-One-Vote-One-Shilling mantra for the Kenyan people instead of concentrating on tribal politics.

“If elections are done again, they will in fact not get 67 percent let alone the 87 percent,” said Kabogo responding to the DP’s claims that he is keen to ensure the 13 percent of Mt Kenya residents who voted for former Prime Ministe Raila Odinga in the 2022 polls will be in President William Ruto’s camp in 2027.

“I think it is time for the One Vote, One Shilling discussion. This is in fact not about Mt Kenya, it is about the Kenyan person because there should be no taxation without representation.

“Why would Ijara with 5,000 votes vote the same way in parliament with another constituency with over 200,000 votes?” He posed.

Kabogo held the view that it would be a good move to have Kiambu County divided into two counties and the number of constituencies increased.
