Wednesday, March 16, 2022 – Deputy President William Ruto, through his ally and Garissa Township Member of Parliament, Aden Duale, has cleared the air regarding the Tujibebe Wakenya Party Leader William Kabogo’s latest political move.
Speaking during an interview, Duale disowned Kabogo, stating that he is not a member of the Kenya Kwanza coalition despite attending Ruto’s rally in Thika last weekend.
According to Duale, Kenya Kwanza is officially made of three parties and one could not join their team by only attending their rally.
He stated that the alliance was formally made of Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC), and Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya.
“UDA, ANC and Ford Kenya are the parties that form Kenya Kwanza. By gracing the rally to the best of my knowledge is not to say that you are part of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.”
“I can say that with certainty. I do not want the public to get me wrong on this. As of tonight, Kenya Kwanza is made of three parties who share the same ideology,” he stated.
During the Thika rally on Saturday, Kabogo joined a section of Mt Kenya leaders in endorsing the candidature of Ruto after years of differences between the two leaders.
At some point, Kabogo blamed the DP for losing the Jubilee party ticket for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat to Ferdinand Waititu in 2017.
Kabogo is one of the leaders who attended yesterday’s crowning of Ruto as UDA presidential candidate at Kasarani.
