Wednesday, March 1, 2023 – Citizen TV’s senior reporter Francis Gachuri has been appointed to a powerful post in President William Ruto‘s government.
In an announcement made on Wednesday, Gachuri, who was one of the best reporters in Royal Media Services, was appointed as Head of Communication in the Interior Ministry.
Unlike many journalists who showed political bias when reporting, Gachuri was meticulous and very objective when reporting.
The award-winning journalist is expected to resign from SK Macharia-owned RMS this week and take the powerful position in the Prof Kithure Kindiki-led ministry.
Gachuri was born on December 23, 1980, and attended Senior Chief Koinange High School in Kiambu.
He later joined Moi University where he pursued a degree in Communication and Journalism.
Gachuri’s career began at RMS as an Intern and has managed to remain in the same media house for more than a decade.
As a Political reporter, Gachuri has covered important political events of the state and political meetings.
It is reported that Gachuri was attacked during a NASA political meeting in 2017 but later admitted to having forgiven the rowdy youth who roughed him up.
